Peer Review Process

The Journal of Tourism Management Studies of the Smart Era (TMSSE) is established with a commitment to international publishing standards, grounded in the principles of peer review and open access. Accordingly, the journal has adopted a double-anonymous (double-blind) peer review procedure. In this system, neither the authors are informed of the reviewers' identities, nor are the reviewers aware of the authors' names or affiliations. This ensures that the review process remains strictly scientific, free from any prejudice or bias.

All submitted manuscripts—with the exception of editorials and letters to the editor, which are evaluated by the editorial board—undergo a rigorous double-anonymous peer review process to ensure the quality of methodology and scholarly reasoning. Upon final approval by the Editor-in-Chief, the manuscript proceeds to the publication stage. The double-anonymous review process, by focusing exclusively on content, mitigates bias and preconception. Peer review enhances the quality of scholarly work, ensures that prior research in a given field is appropriately acknowledged, identifies potential plagiarism, and plays a pivotal role in the advancement of scientific knowledge. The added value of participating in peer review lies in staying abreast of the latest developments in one's field. Manuscripts are typically reviewed by two reviewers, selected based on their expertise and experience, who provide feedback on the strengths and weaknesses of the work.

Article Submission Process:

• Preparing the article based on the specific guidelines provided in the author's instructions
• Submitting the article through the system, including complete author details, phone number, and email address
• Designating one of the authors as the corresponding author for the journal
• Initial review of the article by the journal's subject editor to determine if it is suitable for initial acceptance, requires formatting revisions before proceeding to peer review, or is rejected at this stage and archived
• If the article is approved by the journal management, it is sent to relevant and trusted peer reviewers through the system
• If the peer reviewers approve the article and provide feedback on necessary revisions, the article is sent back to the author(s) for addressing the requested changes
• A second round of peer review is conducted to verify the revisions made by the author(s)
• The article is reviewed by the editorial board for final approval or rejection
• If approved for publication, the author is required to pay the review and publication fees
• The corresponding author addresses any remaining editorial issues or errors
• The accepted article is scheduled for publication based on the journal's discretion
• Publication of the Accepted Article
