Definition:
Plagiarism occurs when an author attempts to present another's work as their own. Additionally, when an author uses a substantial portion of their own previously published work in a new paper without proper citation, this is termed redundant publication (also known as self-plagiarism). This may range from publishing the same paper in another journal to fragmenting data or adding minimal new data to a previous publication.
Policy:
The Editorial Board/Reviewers of the Journal of Tourism Management Studies of the Smart Era screen submitted manuscripts for plagiarism twice (once after submission and once before publication) using plagiarism detection software. If plagiarism is suspected in a manuscript—whether before publication (by reviewers or the Editorial Board) or after publication (by readers)—the journal will act in accordance with COPE guidelines and flowcharts.
