The growing shift toward smart tourism and the need to enhance the quality of accommodation spaces have underscored the importance of redesigning eco-lodges along the Makran coast. As a region characterized by unique cultural, natural, and climatic features, Makran requires an integrated framework that effectively links local identity, environmental requirements, and the principles of sustainable tourism development. This study aims to develop a smart and practical model for context-oriented architectural design in coastal eco-lodges. A mixed-methods strategy was adopted: in the qualitative phase, data were collected through thematic analysis of interviews with ten experts; in the quantitative phase, one hundred valid questionnaires were analyzed using the AHP method. Findings reveal that combining climate-responsive strategies—such as natural ventilation, shading, appropriate orientation, and the use of local materials—with locally adaptable smart technologies, including energy sensors, intelligent control systems, and environmental monitoring tools, can significantly enhance design performance. The proposed framework is structured around five key components: cultural identity, climatic adaptation, energy efficiency, smart management, and sustainable tourism. Overall, results indicate that the future success of Makran’s eco-lodges depends on the effective integration of local context, climatic conditions, smart technologies, and innovative design approaches throughout planning, implementation, and long-term operation.
