This research aims to find the relationship between smart city and urban tourism competitiveness and also to achieve a model in the field of explaining smartness evaluation indicators with an emphasis on Isfahan metropolitan tourism. In this regard, first, by taking as a model the main indicators of smartness and destination competitiveness, the main indicators were collected by taking as a model the main and widely used models. Then, using a questionnaire tool, the impact of smartness on competitiveness was measured based on the opinion of the expert community in Isfahan metropolis. In the next stage, by performing tests to determine the normality and correlation coefficient of the data and the structural equation modeling method, the impact of smartness on the competitiveness of Isfahan metropolis was measured.The results of the study showed that among the components of smartization, respectively: tourism environment, business environment, residents-tourist experience, residents-tourists, access-transportation and governance-management, have the greatest impact on urban tourism in Isfahan metropolis. Also, among the components of competitiveness, respectively: key resources and attractions, strengthening and supporting factors, destination management, demand, public infrastructure, tourism policy and planning, tourism services and general conditions of the destination, have the greatest impact on urban tourism in Isfahan metropolis. The results of the study showed that the effect of smartization on the competitiveness of Isfahan metropolis tourism is direct and significant, so that the more smartization in Isfahan metropolis, the more competitive tourism and its components become.
