Addressing the emotional and psychological needs of children in the treatment process, particularly within the context of health tourism, plays a decisive role in the effectiveness of treatment and the quality of their experience. However, this vital dimension is often overlooked in planning. This study aimed to design a conceptual model for prioritizing emotion-driven design components in children's therapeutic travel. Employing a scoping review method, it analyzed 16 reputable international models from the domains of emotion-driven design and health tourism. The findings resulted in a three-phase model (pre-travel, during travel, and post-travel), which specifies the priority of emotion-driven design components at each stage. In the pre-travel phase, reflective and hedonomic components are prioritized to reduce initial anxiety. During the travel phase, visceral and behavioral components are essential for creating a sense of security and facilitating treatment. In the post-travel phase, reflective and hedonomic components are emphasized to maintain emotional connection and ensure effective follow-up. This model serves as an operational roadmap, assisting policymakers and service providers in organizing the children's therapeutic travel experience in a positive and healing manner by focusing on the most effective emotion-driven components at each stage. It is suggested that this model forms the basis for developing national standards and future research.
